SHOP CASE KNIVESThe Beaver Falls Barn Door Hinge–Linear Cut Ebony Folding Knife is a refined traditional pocketknife that draws directly from America’s early cutlery heritage while delivering modern materials and precise execution. The original Beaver Falls Cutlery Company was founded in the 1860s in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, earning recognition as one of the oldest American cutlery manufacturers. That legacy has been carefully revived by Cooper Cutlery, which acquired the historic trademarks and machinery to produce knives that respect tradition without feeling dated.
This Barn Door Hinge pattern features a compact 3 1/2-inch closed length, making it ideal for pocket carry while still providing enough presence in hand for everyday cutting tasks. The spear point blade is crafted from D2 stainless steel, a material chosen for its excellent edge retention and dependable performance. Finished in a clean satin, the blade maintains a classic appearance while offering modern durability. A long pull allows for smooth, controlled opening, and the solid half stop adds a reassuring level of control throughout the opening and closing cycle.
The handle is fitted with Linear Cut ebony scales that give the knife a striking yet understated appearance. Ebony is known for its density and durability, and the linear cut pattern adds subtle texture and visual depth without overpowering the traditional design. Polished nickel silver bolsters frame the handle and reinforce high-stress areas, while matching nickel silver liners and pins complete the knife with a cohesive, time-honored look.
This knife is proudly made in Winchester, Ohio by Cooper Cutlery using the original Queen, Schatt & Morgan machines. That connection to historic equipment isn’t just symbolic, it’s evident in the knife’s walk and talk, fit, and overall feel. Each Beaver Falls release is produced in small batches, keeping production intentionally limited and quality tightly controlled. These low-production runs are especially appealing to collectors who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and American-made heritage.
The Barn Door Hinge–Linear Cut Ebony isn’t designed to follow trends. It’s built to reflect a period when pocketknives were dependable tools made with care and meant to last for generations. From its historical roots to its modern execution, this knife delivers honest materials, thoughtful design, and a direct link to America’s cutlery past.
