Crafted entirely in the United States by Gilbert—owner of the Clyde Cutlery trademark and a member of the Cooper Cutlery family—each knife is individually made by hand, continuing the legacy of a company that dates back to 1892 in Clyde, Ohio. Once known for producing rugged working knives and tools used in industrial and military applications, Clyde Cutlery remains a respected name rooted in durability and tradition.

This Caper pattern is based on the classic Nessmuk-inspired design, a trusted shape among hunters who value precision and control. With an overall length of 6.75 inches and a 2.6-inch blade, this fixed blade is compact, agile, and purpose-built for field dressing, caping, and detailed cutting tasks. Its balanced geometry allows for smooth, controlled work in close quarters, making it a dependable companion in the field.

The blade is forged from 1095 carbon steel, a proven material known for its toughness, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. Gilbert Cooper acquired a chandelier from an old hunting lodge in Colorado, and the stag material used in these handles comes from that historic piece. This limited run consists of only 10 knives, making each one exceptionally rare and highly collectible. No two handles are alike, each carrying its own natural texture, shape, and character shaped by time.

Each knife is paired with a premium leather belt loop sheath handmade by Gordon Leather in Oden, Ohio. Built specifically for this model, the sheath ensures secure carry and reflects the same commitment to American-made craftsmanship found throughout the knife.

Along the tang where your fingers naturally wrap, each knife is marked with the inscription “May God Bless You 2026” along with the maker’s initials, GLC, adding a personal signature directly from the craftsman.
