Built for uncompromising performance, the Microtech Currahee is a battle-ready fixed blade with roots that run deep in American military history. Designed years ago for the U.S. Special Forces Boat Team 20, the Currahee carries a name steeped in tradition. “Currahee” is a Cherokee word meaning “stands alone,” and it’s also the name of the final mountain in the Blue Ridge range near Camp Toccoa, where the U.S. Army trained the first Parachute Infantry during World War II. That heritage of grit, independence, and resilience lives on in this purpose-built fixed blade.
The Currahee is equipped with a 4.5" partially serrated tanto blade crafted from premium Elmax steel, delivering excellent edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The reinforced tanto tip offers exceptional piercing strength and durability, while the partial serrations power through rope, webbing, and tough materials with aggressive cutting efficiency. Microtech’s rugged Apocalyptic finish gives the blade a battle-worn appearance while helping conceal wear and reduce glare in the field.
Built with full tang construction, the Currahee delivers the strength and stability serious users demand. The black polymer handle is designed to provide a firm, reliable grip even in wet or gloved conditions, ensuring confident control during hard use. A lanyard slot at the base comes fitted with a braided cord lanyard and knocker bead, offering added retention and quick handling when speed and security matter most.
Measuring 9.8" overall and weighing 13.35 ounces, the Currahee strikes a powerful balance between size and control. It rides securely in a heavy-duty ballistic nylon sheath that’s MOLLE compatible, making it easy to attach to packs, vests, or other tactical gear. Every Currahee is proudly made in the USA with the precision craftsmanship and uncompromising quality Microtech is known for.
