Built for uncompromising performance, the Microtech Currahee is a field-ready fixed blade with roots that trace back to American military history. Originally designed years ago for the U.S. Special Forces Boat Team 20, the Currahee carries a name rich with heritage. “Currahee” is a Cherokee word meaning “stands alone,” and it’s also the name of the last mountain in the Blue Ridge range near Camp Toccoa, where the U.S. Army trained the first Parachute Infantry during World War II. That legacy of toughness, independence, and endurance is reflected in every aspect of this purpose-built knife.
This version of the Currahee features a 4.5" partially serrated drop point blade crafted from premium Elmax steel, known for exceptional edge retention, corrosion resistance, and strength under demanding conditions. The versatile drop point profile offers excellent control and slicing performance while maintaining a strong tip for precision work. Partial serrations add aggressive cutting power for rope, webbing, and fibrous materials, while the Desert Tan coated finish provides a rugged tactical look and added protection from wear and the elements.
The knife is built with full tang construction, extending the blade steel through the entire handle for superior durability and balance. Its Desert Tan polymer handle is designed for a secure, confident grip even in harsh environments, whether wet, sandy, or gloved. A lanyard slot at the base is fitted with a braided cord lanyard and knocker bead, offering additional retention and quick handling capability when it counts.
At 9.8" overall and weighing 13.35 ounces, the Currahee delivers solid presence without sacrificing control. It comes equipped with a heavy-duty ballistic nylon sheath that’s MOLLE compatible, allowing easy attachment to packs, vests, and other tactical gear. Each Currahee is proudly made in the USA with the precision craftsmanship and hard-use reliability Microtech is known for.
