SHOP CASE KNIVESThe Microtech DOC Killswitch is a powerful automatic built from one of the most recognizable collaborations in modern knife design. Born from the partnership between Anthony Marfione and Mick Strider, the Death on Contact platform blends aggressive styling with uncompromising performance. This automatic version carries the fitting name “Killswitch,” referencing its distinctive safety system modeled after a rifle’s fire control, where flipping the switch moves from safe to ready with unmistakable intent.
A 3.75" premium steel drop point blade delivers serious cutting capability. The unique Apocalyptic finish gives the blade a battle-worn appearance while helping conceal use and wear over time. Its broad profile and strong tip make it capable of tackling demanding tasks, while the drop point geometry provides excellent control for precision work when needed.
Deployment is fast and decisive thanks to the out-the-side automatic mechanism. A push button fires the blade open with authority and also serves as the lock once deployed. The Killswitch safety adds another layer of confidence by preventing accidental activation, echoing the familiar feel of a rifle selector for intuitive operation.
The handle is built from textured black aircraft-grade aluminum, offering strength without unnecessary weight. The machining provides a secure grip even in challenging conditions, and the large, purposeful design fills the hand for excellent control. A lanyard hole at the base gives users additional carry or retention options when working in the field or on the job.
At 5.25" closed and weighing 6.8 ounces, the DOC Killswitch carries with substantial presence while remaining practical for everyday carry. Every detail reflects the rugged standards both Marfione and Strider are known for, resulting in a knife that’s bold, reliable, and ready for hard use.
You’ll find the Microtech DOC Killswitch at Smoky Mountain Knife Works, the world’s best online knife store and the world’s largest knife store. Located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, this Tennessee landmark draws more than 1.5 million visitors each year to its legendary showroom.
