Built for those who operate beyond the edge of comfort, the Spartan Harsey Difensa is a hard-use fixed blade born from battlefield experience and wilderness necessity. Designed in collaboration with renowned knifemaker William W. Harsey Jr., this knife was named after the Battle of Monte la Difensa, where the First Special Service Force proved their mettle in unforgiving terrain. True to its roots, the Difensa bridges the gap between a fighting knife and a bushcraft tool, making it equally capable in combat and survival situations.
The 6.25-inch blade is crafted from CPM S45VN stainless steel, chosen for its superior edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness. Finished in a durable black PVD coating, the blade resists glare and wear while offering a low-visibility, non-reflective profile. A full tang construction ensures strength from tip to pommel, and the blade’s harpoon-style clip point delivers both piercing power and precision control.
The handle features sculpted black linen Micarta scales, textured for a secure grip in wet, gloved, or bare hands. Contoured for ergonomics and retention, it offers comfort during extended use. A forward finger groove and pronounced guard improve control, while the exposed tang includes a lanyard hole for field carry options. Each knife includes a high-quality nylon MOLLE-compatible sheath with active retention and secondary securing strap for dependable carry in dynamic environments.
Proudly made in the USA by Spartan Blades, the Difensa is a purpose-driven tool engineered to thrive where the stakes are high and gear failure isn’t an option. Whether you’re heading into the backcountry or the unknown, it’s a blade you can count on.
