Some knives are built to look tough. The Boker DBK Bushfriend 2000 is built to be used hard, repeatedly, and without hesitation. Developed in collaboration with Maarten and Mikkie from Dutch Bushcraft Knives (DBK), this full-tang outdoor tool is handcrafted in Solingen, Germany by Boker Germany and designed with one clear priority: real-world survival and bushcraft performance.
At its core is a 4.33-inch drop point blade forged from 80CrV2 high-carbon steel, a proven material known for its outstanding toughness, impact resistance, and field-sharpening ease. This steel is made for hard use, where batoning, carving, and repeated abuse are part of the job rather than exceptions. The black blued finish adds an additional layer of corrosion and wear resistance while giving the blade a subdued, no-nonsense appearance that fits its outdoor intent. The drop point geometry provides a versatile cutting profile, strong enough for heavy tasks while still controlled enough for finer work when needed.
With a blade thickness of 0.15 inches, the Bushfriend 2000 is built with real backbone. It doesn’t shy away from impact work, splitting tasks, or extended campsite demands. Full-tang construction ensures strength runs through the entire tool, giving it the structural integrity required for survival scenarios and long-term outdoor use. At 9.06 inches overall and weighing 5.64 ounces, it strikes a balanced profile that feels substantial without becoming cumbersome on the belt or in the pack.
The handle is constructed from high-visibility orange G10, chosen for its durability, weather resistance, and aggressive grip performance. The ergonomic shaping locks into the hand naturally, offering control even in wet, cold, or gloved conditions. The bright coloration isn’t just aesthetic—it improves visibility in low-light environments, helping prevent tool loss in the field. G10’s resilience ensures the handle stands up to repeated exposure to dirt, moisture, and impact without degradation.
A precision-fit leather sheath completes the system, adding a traditional, rugged carry option that complements the knife’s outdoor character. It secures the blade reliably while offering easy access when needed, making it well-suited for both belt carry and extended wilderness use.
This is a knife built with intent rather than compromise—every detail focused on durability, usability, and field reliability. It reflects DBK’s no-nonsense approach to bushcraft tools and Boker’s long-standing Solingen craftsmanship.
