The Boker Plus Kihon DC 2.0 takes the fundamentals of everyday carry and refines them into a lighter, more ergonomic package. Designed by American custom knifemaker Lucas Burnley, this modern folding knife is inspired by Kihon, the Japanese principle of mastering the basics. The result is a streamlined EDC that combines practical performance, clean design, and dependable functionality.
The 3.22-inch drop-point blade is made from D2 tool steel and features a satin finish that gives the knife a classic, understated appearance. At 0.13 inches thick, the blade offers a solid balance of strength and cutting performance for everyday jobs. D2 is known for its excellent edge retention and wear resistance, making it well suited for repeated cutting tasks around the house, shop, campsite, or jobsite.
The blade rides on smooth ball bearings for fast, fluid deployment. A removable thumb stud provides an intuitive opening method while allowing the knife to maintain its clean, streamlined profile. Once open, the proven crossbar lock provides secure blade retention and straightforward operation, making it easy to manipulate the lock with either hand.
One of the biggest updates to the Kihon DC 2.0 is its reduced weight. Weighing just 3.70 ounces, the knife is approximately 15% lighter than its predecessor while maintaining a full-sized 7.87-inch overall length. The high-strength GFN handle features Burnley's distinctive textured square pattern, providing a confident grip and comfortable handling during extended use. Subtle blue anodized accents around the pivot and handle screws add a sharp contrast to the black handle without overwhelming the knife's minimalist design.
Carry options are equally practical. A convertible tip-up wire pocket clip provides flexible everyday carry, while the integrated lanyard hole gives you another way to secure or personalize the knife. The compact profile and lightweight construction make the Kihon DC 2.0 an easy companion for daily errands, work, outdoor tasks, and general utility cutting.
Made in Asia and built around Burnley's philosophy of mastering the fundamentals, the Boker Plus Kihon DC 2.0 doesn't need unnecessary extras to make an impression. Its satin D2 blade, textured black GFN handle, blue anodized accents, ball-bearing action, and crossbar lock create a capable EDC that's designed to perform day after day.
