The Breeden Derecho by APOC is a formidable full-tang fixed blade designed with the reach, strength, and rugged construction needed for demanding outdoor use. Measuring 28.75 inches overall, the Derecho delivers an imposing profile while maintaining a practical, purpose-driven design. Its 18.25-inch spear point blade is crafted from 1075HC steel, a high-carbon steel known for its toughness, durability, and ability to take a keen working edge. The blade features a two-tone finish that gives it a distinctive appearance while complementing its hard-use character.
The long spear point blade provides a strong, symmetrical profile with a precise point and plenty of cutting surface. Its substantial length gives the Derecho impressive reach for clearing vegetation, processing materials, and tackling demanding camp and field chores. The full-tang construction extends the steel through the handle, providing a solid foundation for hard use and added confidence when putting the knife to work.
The handle is crafted from black canvas micarta, offering a rugged appearance and a dependable grip. Canvas micarta is well suited to outdoor environments, providing a secure feel in the hand while standing up to the wear and moisture commonly encountered in the field. Red G10 liners add a bold visual accent between the black micarta scales and the tang, giving the Derecho a distinctive look without taking away from its utilitarian design. A lanyard hole at the end of the handle provides an additional option for attaching cordage or a retention lanyard.
The Derecho comes equipped with a black Kydex MOLLE-compatible scabbard, giving you a durable carry solution that's ready to integrate with compatible MOLLE gear. Kydex is lightweight, rigid, and resistant to moisture, making it a practical choice for a large fixed blade intended for outdoor use. The scabbard keeps the long blade protected during transport while providing convenient carry options for your gear setup.
With its long 1075HC steel spear point blade, full-tang construction, black canvas micarta handle, red G10 liners, and MOLLE-compatible Kydex scabbard, the Breeden Derecho is built around straightforward strength and dependable field utility. Whether it's carried as part of an outdoor kit, kept with camp equipment, or put to work on demanding tasks, this substantial fixed blade brings serious capability to the field.
