Buck 112 Folding Knife Slim Select Blaze Orange GFN

Never lost in the woods.

I have owned a black version of this knife for at least 3 years now for work opening boxes and such. Easy one and opening and it's still going with daily use. I have also owned the 110 in plastic handled version since the 80s (known as a Buck lite back then). For these two models the basic plastic handle wins for solid construction and light weight. Heft a wood handled 110 for a while, like working on a deer or in my case caribou and you'll appreciate the lighter plastic handles ones real quick. The slim versions are nice to fit in the pocket and still comfortable in hand. The 112 is the better of the two in my opinion for every day carry, just the right size. I picked this one up for personal use and hunting. The orange handle wins out for hunting. You'll easily find it in low light or if you leave it and go looking for it. Black or (worse) green will be lost. The 420 HC steel isn't exactly a wonder steel that last forever, but it sharpens easily and I can work with that.
