The Busse Knives Boss HOG Badger Fixed Knife is a purpose-driven field blade built on one of the most respected hard-use platforms in modern cutlery. Designed around the Boss HOG Badge lineage and forged in INFI steel, this fixed blade carries the reputation of toughness, resilience, and real-world reliability that Busse has become known for. With a coated black blade finish paired to black canvas handle scales, it presents a low-profile, tactical aesthetic backed by serious performance capability.
At the core of the design is a drop point blade measuring approximately 7.6 inches, built on a robust .210" thick stock that gives the knife a solid, confidence-in-hand feel without becoming overly cumbersome. The blade geometry features a full-height flat ground bevel, engineered to be exceptionally sharp while still maintaining structural integrity under heavy use. This grind reduces carry resistance through material, making it efficient in cutting tasks ranging from camp work to field processing, while still holding up to demanding utility applications.
A large choil is integrated into the design, giving the user added control and precision when choking up on the blade. This detail enhances fine work capability and allows safer, more deliberate handling during detailed cuts. Combined with the shallow belly in the handle, the Boss HOG Badger supports a wide range of grip positions including standard, reverse, and inverted holds, making it highly adaptable to different tasks and user preferences.
The handle itself is crafted from black canvas material and hand smoothed to a refined, organic finish. Rather than relying on aggressive texturing, the handle feels naturally contoured, as if it was shaped directly around the hand. This approach improves long-term comfort and control, especially during extended use, while still maintaining a secure and dependable grip in varied conditions.
Heat-treated INFI steel, rated at approximately 58–60 Rc, provides a balanced blend of edge retention, toughness, and ease of maintenance, making it well-suited for hard-use environments. The blade is carried in a Danny The Bull black leather sheath, offering a secure and traditional carry option that complements the knife’s rugged construction while keeping it readily accessible in the field.
With an overall length of approximately 12.6 inches and a design philosophy rooted in durability and function, the Boss HOG Badger stands as a reliable companion for users who expect their gear to perform without compromise.
