    During World War II, industries experienced shortages due to the dedication of materials to the war effort. Case developed a hard black rubber-based plastic with high durability and strength. A special jigging pattern created the unique "Rough Black" handle slabs. Nicknamed "Gum Fuddy" by some, they were discontinued after the war and are highly sought today by collectors. They inspired this modern "Rough Black" family.

     

    Today’s Rough Black Synthetic embodies both a legacy and practicality, crafted for those who appreciate a knife steeped in tradition yet built for modern durability. Mirror-Polished Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades offer the dependable sharpness Case is known for.
