CASE KNIVES
High quality, extremely collectible handmade knives since the 1800s.
SHOP CASE KNIVESThis SMKW-exclusive series pays tribute to Kevin Pipes, founder of Smoky Mountain Knife Works, recognizing his significant influence on the knife industry. For the first time, this collection showcases an entire family of Magician's Knives featuring two of Kevin's most beloved handle designs—Rattlesnake and Barbed Wire—on some of Case’s most popular patterns.
The Case XX Magician's Rattlesnake/Barbed Wire Antique Bone Sowbelly brings together history and craftsmanship in a single, functional design. Originally favored by traveling knife salesmen, magician’s knives feature two distinct handle materials, allowing you to appreciate two of Case XX’s celebrated patterns in one tool. With a striking rattlesnake-patterned antique bone on one side and a barbed-wire embellished antique bone on the other, this knife captures the essence of old-world charm while delivering practical utility. Salesmen would flip these knives to create the illusion of a color-changing handle, adding an element of showmanship to their demonstrations.
Equipped with three mirror-polished Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades—a clip point, Sheepsfoot, and spey—this Sowbelly knife excels in versatility for everyday tasks. Whether you’re slicing, carving, or making precise cuts, these blades provide long-lasting sharpness and corrosion resistance. Nail nicks on each blade allow for easy opening, while the brass liners and nickel silver bolsters enhance the knife’s durability and classic appearance, hallmarks of the Case XX reputation.
At 3.87 inches closed, the Sowbelly pattern fits comfortably in your hand or pocket, marrying practicality with style. Proudly made in the USA, this knife continues the Case XX tradition of quality craftsmanship that both collectors and users appreciate.
