LOVE This Thing!!

It came reasonably sharp, but before I put it to use I sharpened it anyway to further refine the edge. Let me tell you, this thing is a beast. With a good edge it obliterates 2 inch brush with one clean swing and leaves a clean cut with no wood fibers being pulled. It's like the brush has been clean cut with a razor (or laser). It is forward heavy but that's what helps it to be a great brush cutter. When it comes to trees and limbs its better than any regular machete by a large margin, and better than a brush axe because of the ease of use. For weeds and briars, it's equally well suited, although a machete is a little easier to swing when it comes to this kind of stuff. Let's talk about the blade steel. It can be summarized as saying : It's easy to sharpen and takes an very sharp keen edge, and holds that edge extremely well and a very surprisingly long time. Edge retention for me was the biggest surprise. This is some good steel that's well suited to this type of tool. This thing is not only easy to use but quite honestly, it's fun to use. I absolutely love mine and I use it several times a week. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something easier to use and more portable than a brush axe and/or something more capable than your standard machete. I won't be without mine!
