The CRKT SMKW Exclusive Gravitic Flip Manual OTF Desert Warrior brings a unique blend of historical inspiration, innovative engineering, and rugged tactical styling to your everyday carry collection. Available exclusively through Smoky Mountain Knife Works, this special factory-exclusive edition features a desert tan titanium nitride (TiN) blade, green handle, and black oxide pocket clip for a distinctive military-inspired appearance. Designed by Ted Valerio, founder of Teval Knives, the Gravitic Flip reimagines an unusual chapter in knife history with a modern design built around clever manual operation.
Inspired by the original “Flip It” knives, the Gravitic Flip offers a fresh take on the out-the-front format. Unlike conventional automatic OTF knives that rely on springs and buttons, this manual design uses a vintage-inspired flip insert mechanism. A quick flick of the insert sends the dual-edge spearpoint blade forward, while tabs on the insert recess into the handle to lock the blade securely in the open position. Recessed magnets help keep the blade secure when closed, delivering a distinctive operating experience without spring-driven deployment.
The dual-edge spearpoint blade features a desert tan TiN finish that complements the green handle and gives this exclusive edition its rugged Desert Warrior look. Its 3.31-inch blade measures 0.11 inches thick, providing a slim profile suited to everyday cutting tasks and practical utility. The spearpoint shape delivers a symmetrical profile with a defined point, while the forward-deploying design adds an uncommon mechanical element that sets this knife apart from traditional folders and fixed blades.
Measuring 7.59 inches overall when open and 4.28 inches when closed, the Gravitic Flip balances a substantial blade with a compact closed profile. Its manual mechanism makes it an intriguing option for knife enthusiasts who appreciate unconventional engineering, mechanical ingenuity, and an engaging opening action. The green handle provides a bold contrast against the desert tan blade, while the black oxide pocket clip adds a dark finishing touch and supports convenient pocket carry.
Whether you're a collector drawn to distinctive knife mechanisms or an everyday carry enthusiast looking for something outside the ordinary, the CRKT SMKW Exclusive Gravitic Flip Manual OTF Desert Warrior delivers memorable design and practical versatility. Combining historical influence, modern materials, and exclusive color styling, it's a standout addition to any CRKT collection.
