The CRKT Princeton Wong Fial Flipper is the recreation of an earlier knife that was created by knife maker Princeton Wong at the request of his wine enthusiast friend, asking if he could design a pocket knife with a corkscrew. Princeton’s result was the Fion Custom, an elegant folding knife with a concealed a corkscrew and boot lever in its handle. It was his first entry into Blade Show and it earned him the Best New Maker award. Now, the spirit of the Fion has been reborn in the Fial, which carries over everything from its predecessor. The boot lever is almost invisible as it aligns with contours of the handle. The Fial Flipper can easily slice through charcuterie with the sizable drop-point blade.
