SHOP CASE KNIVESThe ESEE JG5 Nessmuk is a woods-ready fixed blade born from the hands of Smoky Mountain native James Gibson. Inspired by the classic Nessmuk pattern made famous by 19th-century adventurer and conservationist George Washington Sears, the JG5 blends traditional lines with modern ESEE toughness. This blade carries the same spirit as Gibson’s PR4, with a wider belly for slicing and a sweeping spine ideal for general camp use, food prep, or feathersticking by the fire. Its 4.875" 1095 carbon steel blade is finished with a rugged black oxide coating to resist corrosion and glare while standing up to harsh conditions.
Sculpted burlap Micarta handle scales provide a secure grip even in wet or cold environments. Triple brass pins hold the slabs in place with rock-solid durability, and the contoured shape offers all-day comfort in hand. A quality leather belt pouch sheath—nearly identical to the one included with the PR4—comes standard, with a snug fit and a wide belt loop for secure carry on the trail or at the campsite.
With an overall length of 9.625" and a balanced weight of just 5.3 ounces, the JG5 is compact enough for everyday carry in the woods but big enough to handle serious outdoor tasks. Like all ESEE knives, it comes backed by one of the best warranties in the business: 100% unconditional for life—no questions, no receipts, no matter where or when.
