The Gahagan Customs Balor Versatile Fixed Blade takes the proven everyday functionality of the Alviss EDC and gives it a rugged tanto blade profile. Designed for practical everyday carry, the Balor combines a compact footprint with dependable fixed-blade construction, making it lightweight, easy to conceal, and ready for a variety of daily cutting tasks. Its clean, purpose-driven design reflects Gahagan Customs’ focus on creating knives that are built with the end user in mind.
The 3.125-inch tanto blade is crafted from 80CRV2 steel and measures .165-inch thick, giving it a substantial build for its compact size. The angular tanto profile provides a strong, controlled point and a useful cutting edge for everyday utility work. A tumbled parkerized finish gives the blade a rugged, subdued appearance while complementing its work-ready construction. Whether it’s handling camp chores, opening packages, or taking on general cutting tasks, the Balor is designed to be a dependable tool that’s easy to keep close.
A unique black G-10 handle provides a secure and comfortable grip while keeping the knife lightweight. The G-10 scale features a subtle fade throughout the handle, giving each knife a distinctive appearance. Because of the nature of the material and finishing process, the exact fade and coloration may vary. At only 3.5 ounces, the Balor is light enough for comfortable everyday carry without sacrificing the solid feel expected from a fixed blade.
Measuring 6.625" inches overall, the Balor offers a compact profile while maintaining enough handle length for a confident grip. A black Kydex retention sheath is included, providing a secure way to carry and protect the blade while keeping the knife readily accessible when needed.
The Balor also reflects the experience and dedication of maker Kyle Gahagan. His passion for knifemaking began at age 10 while visiting his grandparents in South Carolina, eventually growing into a lifelong craft. After serving with the 1st Ranger Battalion and completing two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, Kyle returned to knifemaking and began developing his craft into a family-sustaining business.
Kyle earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating at the 2015 Blade Show in Atlanta and appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016. His work has been featured in Blade Magazine, Knife Magazine, and other publications. His experience as an outdoorsman and dedication to craftsmanship continue to influence the rugged, practical knives he creates.
With its compact dimensions, durable materials, comfortable G-10 handle, and distinctive tanto blade, the Balor Versatile is a capable fixed blade built for everyday duty and dependable performance.
