The Gahagan Customs Balor Versatile Fixed Blade takes the proven everyday functionality of the Alviss EDC and gives it a compact, purpose-built tanto blade. Lightweight, easy to conceal, and designed with real-world use in mind, the Balor is a dependable fixed blade for everyday carry, outdoor chores, and general utility work. Its streamlined construction keeps the design practical while delivering the solid performance you want from a fixed blade.
The 3.125-inch tanto blade is crafted from 80CRV2 steel and measures .165-inch thick, giving the knife a rugged foundation for daily use. The distinctive tanto profile provides a strong, controlled point and an angular cutting edge suited to a variety of practical tasks. A tumbled parkerized finish gives the blade a subdued, work-ready appearance while helping it stand up to the wear associated with everyday use.
A tan G-10 handle keeps the Balor lightweight while providing a durable and comfortable grip. The unique G-10 scale features a subtle fade throughout the handle, giving each knife its own individual character. Since the fade is part of the material and finishing process, coloration and pattern may vary from one knife to another. At only 3.5 ounces, the Balor is easy to carry without adding unnecessary weight to your everyday gear.
The 6.625-inch overall length provides a compact profile that's easy to conceal while still offering enough handle for a comfortable, secure grip. A black Kydex retention sheath is included for secure storage and convenient carry, keeping the blade protected and readily accessible when needed.
The Balor also carries the experience and craftsmanship of maker Kyle Gahagan. His passion for knifemaking began at age 10 while visiting his grandparents in Walterboro, South Carolina. After serving with the 1st Ranger Battalion and completing two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, Kyle returned to his passion for knifemaking. What began as a garage hobby eventually developed into a skilled craft and family-sustaining business.
Kyle earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating at the 2015 Blade Show in Atlanta and appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016. His work has been featured in Blade Magazine, Knife Magazine, and other publications. As an avid outdoorsman, Kyle understands the importance of creating knives that are comfortable in hand, practical in use, and capable of standing up to demanding conditions.
With its rugged 80CRV2 blade, distinctive tan G-10 handle, compact dimensions, and included Kydex sheath, the Balor Versatile delivers dependable fixed-blade performance in a lightweight package.
