The 3-inch Wharncliffe blade is crafted from 80CRV2 steel and measures .165-inch thick, giving it a rugged foundation for hard-working performance. A tumbled parkerized finish gives the blade a subdued, utilitarian appearance while providing a finish suited to the wear and tear of daily use. The Wharncliffe profile offers a controlled point and useful straight cutting edge, making the Gael a versatile tool for a wide range of everyday jobs.
A tan G-10 handle keeps the knife lightweight while providing a durable, comfortable grip. The unique G-10 scale features a subtle fade throughout the handle, giving each knife its own individual character. The Gael is backed by the craftsmanship and experience of Kyle Gahagan, whose passion for knifemaking began when he was just 10 years old. After serving with the 1st Ranger Battalion and completing two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, Kyle returned to his passion for knifemaking. What began as a garage hobby eventually developed into a family-sustaining business built around craftsmanship, experience, and a commitment to the end user.
Kyle earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating at the 2015 Blade Show in Atlanta and appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016. His work has also been featured in Blade Magazine, Knife Magazine, and other publications. His experience as an outdoorsman and dedication to the craft are reflected in knives designed to be practical, dependable, and comfortable in hand.
