The Gahagan Customs Sentinel Ringed Fixed Blade brings a distinctive Persian-style profile to the Ringed Series, combining a curved trailing-point blade with a compact, lightweight fixed-blade design. A circular ring is incorporated into the handle, giving the Sentinel its signature appearance while providing another point of control during use. Weighing just 3.19 ounces, it’s an easy companion for everyday carry and offers a practical balance of portability, control, and cutting performance.
The 3.5-inch Persian or trailing-point blade is made from 80CRV2 steel and measures .165 inches thick. Its curved profile gives the Sentinel a distinctive look while providing a useful cutting edge for everyday tasks. The fixed-blade construction means there’s no opening mechanism to deal with when the knife is needed, making it a straightforward and dependable addition to an EDC setup. At 7.5 inches overall, the Sentinel provides a capable blade in a compact package that won’t take up unnecessary space in your gear.
A textured black G-10 handle gives the Sentinel a rugged, understated appearance while providing a secure gripping surface. The integrated circular ring is a defining feature of the design, complementing the handle while helping promote confident handling and control. Combined with the knife’s lightweight 3.0-ounce construction, the handle design makes the Sentinel comfortable to keep close at hand throughout the day. Whether it’s carried as an everyday cutting tool or kept ready for more demanding applications, this is a fixed blade designed around practical functionality.
The Sentinel reflects the experience and craftsmanship of Kyle Gahagan, whose passion for knifemaking began at age 10 while visiting his grandparents in Walterboro, South Carolina. After years of experimenting with tools and learning from accomplished knifemakers, Kyle served with the 1st Ranger Battalion, completing two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. After his military service, he and his wife, Dana, settled in North Carolina, where Kyle renewed his passion for knifemaking in the early 2000s.
What began as a garage hobby eventually became Gahagan Customs, with Kyle developing knives around the needs of the end user. His extensive research, hands-on experience, and work with respected bladesmiths have helped him develop a distinctive approach to practical knife design. Kyle earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating at the 2015 Blade Show in Atlanta and appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016. His work has also been featured in Blade Magazine, Knife Magazine, and other publications.
With its Persian-style trailing-point blade, textured black G-10 handle, integrated ring, and lightweight construction, the Sentinel delivers a unique combination of style and everyday functionality. It’s a compact fixed blade with plenty of character and the rugged craftsmanship expected from Gahagan Customs.
