The Gahagan Customs Sentinel Ringed Fixed Blade brings a distinctive Persian-style profile to the Ringed Series, pairing a curved trailing-point blade with a compact and lightweight fixed-blade design. A circular ring is incorporated into the handle, giving the Sentinel its signature appearance while providing another point of control. Weighing only 3.19 ounces, it’s easy to carry throughout the day and offers a practical combination of portability, control, and cutting performance.
The 3.5-inch Persian or trailing-point blade is crafted from 80CRV2 steel and measures .165 inches thick. The curved profile gives the Sentinel a unique appearance while providing a useful cutting edge for everyday tasks. Its fixed-blade construction eliminates the need for an opening mechanism, making it straightforward to access when you need it. With an overall length of 7.5 inches, the Sentinel offers a capable cutting tool in a compact package that’s easy to incorporate into an everyday carry setup.
The textured OD green G-10 handle gives this Sentinel a rugged appearance and provides a secure gripping surface for confident handling. The integrated circular ring is a defining part of the design, complementing the handle while adding another point of control. The lightweight 3.0-ounce construction keeps the knife comfortable to carry without taking up unnecessary space or adding excess weight to your gear. It’s a practical fixed blade with a distinctive design that stands apart from more traditional EDC knives.
The Sentinel reflects the experience and craftsmanship of Kyle Gahagan, whose passion for knifemaking began at age 10 while visiting his grandparents in Walterboro, South Carolina. After years of experimenting with tools and learning from accomplished knifemakers, Kyle served with the 1st Ranger Battalion, completing two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. Following his military service, Kyle and his wife, Dana, settled in North Carolina, where he renewed his passion for knifemaking in the early 2000s.
What began as a garage hobby eventually grew into Gahagan Customs. Kyle continues to develop knives with the end user in mind, drawing on extensive research, hands-on experience, and time spent working alongside respected bladesmiths. He earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating at the 2015 Blade Show in Atlanta and appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016. His work has also been featured in Blade Magazine, Knife Magazine, and other publications.
With its Persian-style trailing-point blade, textured OD green G-10 handle, integrated ring, and lightweight construction, the Sentinel offers a unique blend of rugged craftsmanship and everyday functionality. It’s compact, distinctive, and designed to be carried and used.
