The Hinderer XM-24 Vintage Series Skinny Bowie is a full-sized working folder that carries the character of historic American field knives into a modern precision-built platform. Designed by master knifemaker Rick Hinderer, it combines rugged materials, proven blade steel, and a timeless aesthetic that only gets better with use.
The knife features a 4" Skinny Bowie blade crafted from 1095 tool steel, a classic high-carbon steel respected for its toughness, edge stability, and dependable real-world cutting performance. The blade is finished with a black parkerized coating originally developed for military firearms, providing added protection while giving the knife the subdued, battle-worn appearance that defines the Vintage Series. It’s a finish that looks right at home on a hard-use blade and will continue to develop its own character over time.
The handle showcases smooth in-house stabilized walnut scales paired with a subdued green anodized lockside, creating a warm, traditional look that echoes the materials found on historic military and outdoor knives. The walnut adds natural texture and visual depth, while the anodized lockside provides modern strength and structural integrity. Each knife in the Vintage Series is individually serialized, marking its place in this limited production run.
Built on the XM-24 Skinny platform, this knife offers the strength and reach expected from the full-size XM-24 while maintaining comfortable carry and balanced handling. At 5.62" closed and weighing 6.7 ounces, it’s a serious working knife designed for daily carry, hard tasks, and long-term reliability. Like every Hinderer, it’s proudly made in the USA with the attention to detail and durability that have made the brand legendary among knife enthusiasts and professionals alike.
