The Honey Badger Medium Large Tanto Crossbolt Folder combines a rugged, distinctive blade profile with the smooth, secure operation of Honey Badger’s advanced Crossbolt locking system. Built for strength, control, and dependable everyday performance, this larger folder delivers a capable cutting platform while maintaining a surprisingly lightweight and pocket-friendly design.
The 3.3-inch Tanto blade is crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and finished with a clean satin surface. Inspired by the short armor-piercing swords used by Samurai in feudal Japan, the Tanto replaces a traditional curved belly with angular edge transitions that create a strong, prominent point. Its robust tip is well suited for piercing tougher materials, while the plain cutting edge provides clean, controlled cuts for everyday tasks. The 0.1-inch blade thickness gives it a solid balance of durability and maneuverability.
Honey Badger’s Crossbolt locking mechanism provides smooth, effortless operation with dependable blade lockup. Using an axis-lock-style design, the mechanism is easy to operate from either side of the handle, making the knife fully ambidextrous for left- and right-handed users. This straightforward system adds versatility and convenience while complementing the Tanto’s rugged profile.
The green FRN handle delivers a durable and lightweight foundation with a secure, ergonomic feel. Honey Badger’s signature raised honeycomb texture provides multidirectional traction, helping resist slipping even when your hands are wet or you’re wearing gloves. Ergonomic contours, handle slabs, a finger choil, and the blade spine create natural contact points that help keep the knife comfortable and controlled in hand.
Despite its larger size, the Medium Large Tanto weighs only 2.55 ounces. The 4.45-inch closed length and slim profile make it easy to carry throughout the day, while the deep-carry pocket clip helps keep it secure and discreet in your pocket. The movable clip can be positioned for left- or right-hand carry, allowing you to customize the knife to your preferred setup.
Measuring 7.8 inches overall, this Honey Badger provides a capable 3.3-inch blade without sacrificing portability. Silver screws add a subtle contrast against the green FRN handle, while the combination of 8Cr13MoV steel, durable FRN construction, and Crossbolt technology creates a dependable platform for everyday use. Backed by a 10-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, it’s built to be a reliable companion for the long haul.
