The Corey Dunlap Inazuma 3.75 Inch Wa-Paring Knife in Ebony Wood pairs traditional Japanese cutlery design with high-performance custom craftsmanship. Handcrafted in the USA by custom knifemaker Corey Dunlap, this specialized paring knife is engineered to replace heavy, awkwardly balanced utility tools that cause hand cramps and wrist fatigue during detailed prep work. Featuring an ultra-lightweight hidden-tang construction and a classic octagonal Wa handle, the Inazuma Wa-Paring Knife provides a floating, effortless balance for hand-held skinning, trimming, and intricate garnish work.
The knife features a 3.75 in. drop-point blade ground from high-grade AEB-L stainless steel, complete with a refined satin finish. Widely celebrated in custom cutlery for its ultra-fine carbide structure, AEB-L delivers razor-sharp edge retention, high stain resistance, and exceptional micro-toughness under daily use. With a flat grind and fine taper along its 0.08 in spine, the blade glides through dense root vegetables, garlic cloves, and soft fruit skins with minimal cutting friction, preventing wedging and preserving delicate cell structures.
Designed for exceptional tactile feedback and hand clearance, the handle is sculpted in a traditional octagonal Wa profile from dense, pitch-black African Ebony Wood. The polished natural wood finish provides a smooth, ergonomic grip that adapts comfortably to various hand positions during close-in prep work. Constructed with a Japanese hidden-tang layout weighing just 1.65 oz across its 8.50 in frame, this knife distributes weight forward toward the blade, allowing for effortless control during delicate hand-held tasks. Hand washing with mild dish soap and immediate drying are recommended to preserve the custom satin finish and natural ebony handle.
