New Knives of the Week: April 3rd, 2026
Published: April 3rd, 2026
This week’s releases bring a little flavor to the mix, with a pair of SMKW Exclusives that lean fully into the Peanut Butter & Jelly theme while still delivering real, everyday performance. Bear & Son and Pro-Tech take two very different platforms and give them the same nostalgic twist, blending bold color, familiar patterns, and a bit of personality into knives that are just as usable as they are fun to carry. Despite the shared theme, each one stays true to its original design and build. It’s a small drop, but one that hits with that perfect PB&J balance, simple, satisfying, and hard to resist.
Bear & Son Cutlery
SMKW Exclusive PB&J Beer Tender Pilsner Barlow
The Bear & Son SMKW Exclusive Beer-Tender Pilsner Barlow is built for the guy who somehow always ends up opening everyone else’s drinks. This is a classic Barlow with a sense of humor, swapping out the traditional secondary blade for a folding bottle opener so you’re always ready when the caps start flying. It features a 2.75-inch clip-point blade made from 440 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, complete with a “Beer Tender” and a “1 of 500” engraving that marks it as a limited release. The 3.25-inch swirled purple and brown bone handle mimics the look of a delicious Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, while still feeling solid and comfortable in your hand. Secured on a slipjoint with a nail nick opener, it measures 5.25 inches overall and keeps things simple, useful, and fun. Made in the USA.
Pro-Tech
SMKW Exclusive PB&J Runt 5
The ProTech SMKW Exclusive PB&J Runt 5 Auto feels like something straight out of a successful school lunchbox trade, but with the snap and precision of a serious automatic. It’s a compact knife that leans into its tasty theme while still delivering real performance. The 1.9-inch Wharncliffe blade is made from CPM MagnaCut stainless tool steel with a matte “peanut butter” tan finish, giving you excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and a clean slicing profile with a plain edge. The out-the-side automatic action fires hard with that signature ProTech snap, locking up solidly with a button lock. Its bright anodized purple “jelly” 3.1-inch aluminum handle keeps things lightweight and easy to carry, finished. Measuring 5 inches overall and weighing just 2 ounces, it carries easily with a stainless steel pocket clip. Made in the USA.
