As 2025 draws to a close, it’s hard not to look back at just how many strong releases this year delivered across the knife world. From thoughtful updates to long-running platforms to bold exclusives that pushed materials and finishes in new directions, it’s been a year full of knives worth paying attention to. As the final week of the calendar settles in, new releases naturally slow down, but they don’t come to a stop. This week’s entry is a focused one, led by a single standout from Heretic Knives that arrives just before the year turns.

Heretic Knives

Medusa (Tanto | Negative Cel Shaded Toxic Green)

Folding knife with a black handle and green accents on a geometric background.

Released: December 23rd, 2025

This Heretic Medusa Tanto is a manual folding knife that combines cutting-edge materials with a visually distinct finish. It features a 3.25-inch CPM MagnaCut tanto blade, offering great edge retention, corrosion resistance, and a reinforced tip suited for controlled piercing and everyday cutting tasks. The blade opens via a flipper tab or thumb hole, allowing for a deliberate, consistent deployment. The 4.5-inch aluminum handle is finished with Heretic’s hand-applied Negative Cel Shade Toxic Green Cerakote, creating a layered, graphic appearance that reacts under UV light. Black traction inlays add grip without increasing bulk. Measuring 7.5 inches overall, the Medusa carries with a balanced feel at 6.5 ounces. A frame lock provides secure lockup, and a tip-up right-hand pocket clip supports comfortable everyday pocket carry. Made in the USA.
