New Knives of the Week: February 13th, 2026
Published: February 13th, 2026
As February rolls on in 2026, the knife world finds itself sharing the spotlight with a much larger milestone. Two hundred and fifty years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the tools we carry are once again reflecting the history, craftsmanship, and everyday practicality that helped shape the country itself. From the early days of frontier settlement to the workshops that supplied farmers, tradesmen, and soldiers, knives have always been quiet companions in American life, working far harder than they ever needed to be noticed.
Long before anyone called it EDC, a pocketknife was simply part of being prepared, carried in a coat pocket, a tackle box, a tool roll, or a saddlebag. The same is true of the big fixed blades that came later, built for camp chores and hard travel, and remembered today as much for their utility as their place in American folklore. These new releases from Rough Rider and Remington tap into that thread, pairing familiar patterns and honest materials with commemorative touches that do not get in the way of what a knife is supposed to do.
Rough Rider
250th Anniversary of the USA Series
The Rough Rider 250th Anniversary of the USA series is a special collection celebrating America’s 250th birthday through classic traditional pocketknife patterns and patriotic detailing. The series spans fifteen patterns in total, including longtime favorites such as the Trapper, Canoe, Congress, Whittler, and other traditional designs built around familiar proportions and everyday utility. Each knife features mirror-polished blades with an American 250th Anniversary and bald eagle commemorative etching that adds historical significance while preserving clean working profiles. The handles combine lustrous Mother of Pearl with bold red, white, and blue acrylic, creating a striking contrast that mimics the U.S. flag. Brass liners provide structural strength, while ringed nickel silver bolsters and nickel silver spacers reinforce the frame and add a classic finish. A color-filled nickel silver America 250th shield completes each knife, giving the entire series a cohesive look.
Remington
250th Anniversary American Spirit Bowie
The Remington 250th Anniversary American Spirit Bowie is a full-tang fixed blade that commemorates the United States’ 250th birthday with a design inspired by the traditional Bowie knife. It features a .125-inch-thick, 7-inch clip-point blade made from 440A stainless steel with a satin finish and a commemorative blade etch marking the 2026 anniversary. The Bowie profile offers a long cutting edge and a reinforced tip suited for utility and field use. A full tang construction adds strength and balance, paired with smooth American walnut handles secured by brass pins and protected by a classic brass guard. Overall length measures 11.75 inches, giving the knife a solid yet manageable feel in the hand. It includes a leather belt sheath designed for secure carry and long-term durability, and is proudly made in the USA.
