Vero Engineering
Published: March 12th, 2025
Vero Engineering began in 2018, with Joseph Vero’s ambition to design a knife that seamlessly blended functionality and aesthetic appeal. Initially, the idea was more of a personal project, something he simply wanted to try. Joseph created his first prototype Using 3D printing and CNC machining. He brought it to the 2019 Blade Show, a major event in the knife community, where it would make its unofficial debut.
Filled with anticipation and uncertainty, Joseph stepped aside before the show and began to test the prototype privately, unsure if it was ready for public scrutiny. To his relief, the knife performed just as he had envisioned. Encouraged by the positive reactions of friends and fellow knife enthusiasts, Joseph realized he had created something special.
One of Vero Engineering’s first big hits was the Impulse, a tanto-style blade that showcased the precision and attention to detail that would become hallmarks of the brand. Its smooth flipping action and unique design quickly caught the attention of knife collectors and users alike. The Impulse’s early success validated Joseph’s knife-making approach and set the stage for future models that would build on its strengths.
Joseph describes his knives as “high-end production knives,” designed to offer exceptional performance while remaining accessible to a wide range of users. This focus on quality without compromise reflects his connection to the craft. One of the first premium knives he owned was a Chris Reeve knife, a gift from his wife, Michelle. The sentimental value of that gift influences his designs, as he aims to create knives that people can connect with on a personal level.

Her dedication to building strong customer relationships has been a cornerstone of the company’s growth. Over time, the two-person operation expanded to include a team of professionals, including family members like Joseph’s sister, who handles social media. The company also brought in marketing experts and production staff, allowing Vero Engineering to scale its operations while maintaining the personal touch that customers appreciate.
