Founded in 2000 by Joe Chung, a middle school teacher, WE Knife Co., Ltd. started its journey as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for various knife brands. With a background in mechanical engineering, Joe Chung aimed to create high-quality knives that combined functionality with aesthetic appeal. Initially focusing on the domestic market in China, WE Knife quickly established a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This foundation allowed the company to expand its reach beyond national borders and into the international market

In 2014, after years of OEM work, WE Knife Co. decided to launch its own brand. The first model, the 601, was released in 2015 and quickly gained recognition for its high-quality materials and precision engineering. The success of the 601 model helped establish WE Knife as a premier brand in the knife industry. To celebrate ten years of manufacturing excellence, WE Knife rereleased the 601 as a tribute, marking it with an "X" to denote the anniversary.

In 2018, WE Knife Co. launched Civivi to cater to a broader market. Civivi knives are designed to be more budget-friendly while maintaining the high standards of quality and durability set by WE Knife Co. Manufactured in the same facility and by the same experienced team, Civivi quickly gained a reputation for delivering exceptional value. The Civivi Elementum, in particular, became a universally loved platform, available in various forms such as fixed, mini, utility, and button lock versions. This expansion allowed WE Knife Co. to reach a wider audience without compromising on the quality that had become synonymous with the brand.

Sencut, founded in 2020, was introduced to address the lowest budget price range. Initially, Sencut knives were not available to dealers, but their overwhelming success at Blade Show, where they sold out, led to their addition to the dealer list. Like WE and Civivi, Sencut knives are manufactured in the same facility, ensuring consistency and quality. The Sencut Sachse, which won Best Buy of the Year 2022, was the brand's first button lock knife and played a significant role in establishing Sencut's presence in the market.

The success of WE Knife Co., Civivi, and Sencut can be attributed to their stringent quality control processes. Each knife undergoes multiple checks throughout the manufacturing process, from assembly to final inspection. The low turnover rate of experienced employees further ensures that each knife meets the high standards set by the company. This commitment to quality has earned WE, Civivi, and Sencut a reputation for producing knives that are not only reliable but also offer exceptional value.

WE Knife Co. has collaborated with several notable designers, resulting in unique and sought-after knife models. Designers such as Elijah Isham, Ben Petersen (known for the Banter series), Bob Terzuola, Peter Carey, Brad Zinker, and Snecx Tan have contributed to the diverse and innovative lineup of knives offered by WE, Civivi, and Sencut. With a bright future ahead, WE Knife, Civivi, and Sencut continue to set new standards in the knife industry, offering products that cater to both high-end and budget-conscious consumers.
