The Knight Forge Studio Tennessee Toothpick Fixed Blade combines traditional knife styling with distinctive materials and the craftsmanship of Jason Knight. Measuring 7.75 inches overall with a 4-inch blade, this fixed blade offers a sleek, elongated profile inspired by the classic toothpick design. Its copper Damascus steel blade and African blackwood scales create a striking combination of intricate metal patterns and rich, dark wood, making it an excellent choice for collectors who appreciate handcrafted knives with timeless character.
The copper Damascus steel blade brings distinctive visual appeal to the Tennessee Toothpick. Its layered patterning and copper-toned details create a unique appearance that sets this knife apart from more conventional fixed blades. The slender toothpick-inspired profile emphasizes its traditional styling, giving the knife an elegant silhouette while maintaining the rugged character expected from a handcrafted piece. The combination of Damascus steel and refined proportions makes this knife a standout addition to a collection focused on custom blades and traditional designs.
African blackwood scales complement the blade with deep, dark tones and a naturally refined appearance. Known for its density and fine texture, African blackwood is valued for its rich coloration and distinctive character. The dark handle provides a bold contrast against the copper Damascus blade, allowing the intricate metal pattern to take center stage. Together, these materials create a balanced design that blends classic appeal with the individuality of custom knifemaking.
A zippered black pouch is included for convenient storage and transport, helping protect the knife when it's not on display or in use. Its compact overall length also makes it a practical size for storage among other prized pieces in a knife collection.
Behind the Tennessee Toothpick is Jason Knight, whose passion for knives began during his childhood in the hinterlands of Charleston, South Carolina. Inspired by the adventure stories his father read to him, costumes his mother made, and backyard explorations through the brush with old knives and machetes, Knight developed an early fascination with blades and their craftsmanship. In 2001, he attended the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, Arkansas, where he trained under Master Bladesmith Jay Hendrickson. In 2007, Knight earned his American Bladesmith Society Mastersmith rating and received the B.R. Hughes Award for the best knife by a Mastersmith candidate. His decades of experience and recognizable style have helped establish his reputation in the knifemaking community.
With its copper Damascus steel blade, rich African blackwood scales, and classic toothpick-inspired profile, the Knight Forge Studio Tennessee Toothpick reflects a commitment to distinctive materials and skilled craftsmanship.
