Built for the demands of the outdoors, the Knight Forge Studio Wildlands Hunter combines rugged performance, distinctive styling, and the craftsmanship of Jason Knight. Featuring a 4.5-inch blade crafted from 80CrV2 carbon steel, this fixed blade is designed for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and collectors who appreciate a hardworking knife with custom character. With an overall length of 9.23 inches, the Wildlands Hunter offers a practical size for field use, camp chores, and everyday outdoor cutting tasks.
The 80CrV2 steel blade features a harpoon-style modified drop point profile that gives the knife a bold appearance and versatile cutting geometry. The raised harpoon-style spine adds definition to the blade's profile, while the modified drop point design provides a useful balance of control and cutting performance. Known for its toughness and suitability for demanding applications, 80CrV2 carbon steel makes a solid choice for a field-ready fixed blade. As with other carbon steels, regular cleaning, thorough drying, and occasional oiling will help protect the blade from corrosion and maintain its condition over time.
The handle pairs black Micarta scales with CamoCarbon inlays, creating a rugged contrast between understated texture and distinctive patterning. The black Micarta delivers a classic outdoors-inspired look, while the CamoCarbon accents add depth and a modern custom touch. This combination complements the blade's aggressive profile, giving the Wildlands Hunter a purposeful appearance that stands out without sacrificing its practical character.
For convenient carry, the knife comes equipped with a black Kydex sheath and an UltiClip. The molded Kydex construction helps retain and protect the blade during transport, while the UltiClip provides a versatile attachment option for compatible belts, pockets, and other suitable carry locations. Together, these features make the Wildlands Hunter a practical option for hunting trips, camping excursions, and other outdoor adventures.
Behind the design is Jason Knight, whose passion for knives began during his childhood in the hinterlands of Charleston, South Carolina. Inspired by the adventure stories his father read to him, costumes his mother made, and backyard explorations with old knives and machetes, Knight turned an early fascination into a lifelong pursuit. In 2001, he attended the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, Arkansas, where he trained under Master Bladesmith Jay Hendrickson. In 2007, he earned his American Bladesmith Society Mastersmith rating and received the B.R. Hughes Award for the best knife by a Mastersmith candidate. His decades of experience and recognizable style have helped establish his reputation in the knifemaking world.
The Knight Forge Studio Wildlands Hunter brings together a distinctive harpoon-style modified drop point, durable 80CrV2 steel, striking handle materials, and practical carry features in a rugged fixed blade built for the outdoors.
