SHOP CASE KNIVESThe Trekker Whitetail: A Skinning and Field-Dressing Workhorse
Built with the whitetail hunter in mind, the Knives of Alaska Trekker Whitetail is a fixed-blade knife that blends practical design with American craftsmanship. Featuring a refined drop-point blade and integrated gut hook, it’s a dependable field tool for those who process their own game and demand performance in the field.
The blade is forged from D2 tool steel, known for its superior edge retention and wear resistance. Heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of 59-61, this knife is built to take on demanding cutting tasks season after season without dulling prematurely. The drop-point design offers excellent tip control for skinning and slicing, while the large-capacity gut hook makes quick work of initial opening cuts down the abdomen and limbs—ideal for medium game like whitetail deer. The 3.25-inch blade has an 18–20-degree bevel that balances sharpness with easy field maintenance.
The ergonomic handle is constructed from Santoprene Suregrip—a durable, rubberized material with finely checkered texturing that provides a reliable hold, even when wet or slick with blood. A section of jimping on the blade spine offers added thumb control for precise cuts, while subtle finger grooves give you the leverage and comfort needed for long processing sessions. Available in high-visibility hunter orange, it’s easy to locate if dropped in brush or snow.
With a total length of 8.45 inches and a weight of just 4.3 ounces, the Trekker Whitetail remains light on your belt or in your pack while still offering full-sized capability. It comes paired with a vegetable-tanned leather sheath made in the USA, crafted for both security and ease of carry in rugged terrain.
Every Knives of Alaska product is proudly made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty, ensuring this hunting knife will be a reliable companion for years of field work. Check out this hunting knife with SMKW!
