The Lapua Long Range Rimfire .22 LR 40-grain Lead Round Nose (LRN) load is built from the ground up for competitive shooters who want to push the absolute limits of the .22 LR cartridge. The ultimate headache in long-range rimfire shooting is "transonic instability"—where a bullet starts supersonic but shatters its own accuracy as it drops below the speed of sound, causing unpredictable wobbles and thrown shots. Lapua eliminates this variable by keeping this premium round locked into a perfectly stable, fully subsonic velocity profile from the instant it leaves the muzzle.
The technical advantage centers on flawless consistency and extreme quality control. Leaving the barrel at a crisp 1,106 FPS, this round never has to cross the turbulent sound barrier, preserving its gyroscopic stability all the way to the target. Lapua pairs this smooth flight path with ultra-concentric brass cases, specialized match-grade lubricants, and tight manufacturing tolerances that deliver near-zero standard deviation in velocity. This means you can say goodbye to frustrating vertical stringing on your targets.
Carrying an incredibly efficient 0.172 G1 ballistic coefficient, this 40-grain lead round-nose projectile cuts through the air with minimal drag. By stabilizing the internal fluid dynamics and exterior ballistics, Lapua has created a round that handles crosswinds with ease and prints remarkably tight groups out past 100 yards. Whether you are competing in a high-stakes NRL22 match, a precision benchrest tournament, or just dialing in your favorite bolt-action rimfire rifle, this load delivers the repeatable, match-winning elevation holds you can bet your scorecard on.
