Built for uncompromising performance, the Microtech Currahee is a field-ready fixed blade rooted in American military history. Originally designed years ago for the U.S. Special Forces Boat Team 20, the Currahee carries a name rich with meaning. “Currahee” is a Cherokee word translating to “stands alone,” and it’s also the name of the last mountain in the Blue Ridge range near Camp Toccoa, where the U.S. Army trained the first Parachute Infantry during World War II. That tradition of resilience, independence, and strength is reflected in every detail of this purpose-built blade.
This version of the Currahee features a 4.5" standard edge drop point blade crafted from premium Elmax steel, a high-performance alloy known for exceptional edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness. The drop point profile provides outstanding versatility, offering excellent slicing ability and a strong, controllable tip for precision tasks. A durable Desert Tan coated finish enhances the blade’s resistance to wear and corrosion while delivering a low-profile tactical appearance.
The knife is built with full tang construction, extending the blade steel through the entire handle to provide superior strength and balance during heavy use. Its Desert Tan polymer handle is designed for a secure and comfortable grip even in demanding conditions. A lanyard slot at the base is fitted with a braided cord lanyard and knocker bead, providing additional retention and quick handling when it matters most.
At 9.8" overall and weighing 13.35 ounces, the Currahee offers substantial durability while maintaining confident handling. It includes a heavy-duty ballistic nylon sheath that’s fully MOLLE compatible, allowing seamless integration with packs, vests, and tactical loadouts. Each Currahee is proudly made in the USA with the rugged craftsmanship and precision Microtech is known for.
