The Microtech Scarab II Gen III is built for professionals who demand uncompromising performance in the most demanding environments. Engineered for military, law enforcement, and government operatives, this out-the-front automatic knife delivers reliability, speed, and strength in a design refined for high-intensity applications. Inspired by the original Ultratech, the Scarab II improves upon its predecessor with enhanced ergonomics, a secure grip, and superior durability.
This knife features a 3.88-inch Bohler M390MK stainless steel tanto blade with an apocalyptic finish. It offers exceptional edge retention, corrosion resistance, and cutting power. The serrated edge adds versatility, making it ideal for slicing through tough materials, while the angular tip is excellent for stabbing or thrusting into hard surfaces, making it popular in tactical or self-defense contexts. Its dual-action OTF mechanism ensures rapid deployment and retraction with a simple thumb slide motion, allowing for seamless one-handed operation.
The Scarab II’s handle is constructed from deep black anodized aluminum, delivering lightweight strength without compromising durability. 3M non-slip grip inserts on both sides provide a secure hold, ensuring control even in wet or gloved conditions. The Gen III model introduces the Krud Kutter groove on the thumb slide, an innovation designed to prevent debris from interfering with the internal mechanism, maintaining smooth operation in the harshest conditions.
For enhanced practicality, the Scarab II is equipped with a reversible stainless steel tip-down pocket clip, laser-engraved with Microtech’s signature scarab emblem. This allows for discreet and secure carry, ensuring the knife is always within reach when needed. The integrated glass breaker tip at the base of the handle adds another layer of functionality, making it a critical tool for emergency and rescue situations.
At 5.75 inches closed and weighing 5.92 ounces, the Scarab II balances portability with rugged capability. Its robust construction, precision engineering, and attention to detail make it a trusted choice for professionals who refuse to compromise. Like all Microtech knives, the Scarab II Gen III is proudly made in the USA, reflecting a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and reliability.
