The Morakniv Amberg Compact (S) is a lightweight, versatile fixed blade designed for outdoor enthusiasts who value precision, portability, and dependable performance. Made in Mora, Sweden, this compact knife combines more than 135 years of Swedish knife-making expertise with modern materials and thoughtful ergonomics. Its shorter profile makes it an excellent companion for hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and everyday outdoor tasks, providing reliable cutting performance without adding unnecessary bulk to your gear. Whether you're carving wood, preparing kindling, or handling detailed camp chores, the Amberg Compact delivers the control you need for life outdoors.
The 3-inch blade is crafted from Swedish 12C27 stainless steel manufactured by Alleima, offering a practical balance of edge performance, corrosion resistance, and ease of maintenance. Hardened to 56.5 HRC, the blade is built to handle regular outdoor use while remaining straightforward to sharpen when needed. Its combination of Scandi and profile grinds provides precise cutting control for carving, shaping wood, and other detailed tasks. Measuring 0.08 inches thick, the blade maintains a slim profile that supports accurate cuts without sacrificing dependable everyday utility. The spine is also ground for compatibility with a ferro rod, making it a useful tool for fire preparation when you're away from modern conveniences.
The Amberg Compact's Sandy Shores handle combines understated outdoor styling with a comfortable, functional design. Its beige thermoplastic elastomer construction provides a secure, cushioned grip, while the flatter shape accommodates different hand sizes and gripping styles. The handle narrows toward the front to improve precision, and ridges along the spine offer additional control during detailed cutting work. A finely textured friction pattern has been laboratory tested to maintain grip in challenging conditions, including wet, cold, or greasy environments. A protective finger guard helps keep your hand positioned securely during use, while the lanyard hole provides another convenient carrying option.
For practical field carry, Morakniv includes a matching beige sheath made from durable polypropylene. Its symmetrical design accommodates both right- and left-handed users, allowing you to carry the knife in the way that works best for you. Measuring 7.7 inches overall and weighing approximately 4.76 ounces, the Amberg Compact is easy to pack and comfortable to carry on your belt during long days outdoors.
Made in Sweden, the Morakniv Amberg Compact brings together stainless steel reliability, precision-focused geometry, and a compact design that's well suited to a wide range of outdoor adventures.
