Built for versatility where camp cooking and field use overlap, the Morakniv Amberg Full Flat (S) Fixed Blade in Black Skies brings kitchen-level cutting performance into the outdoor world without losing durability or control. Designed and made in Mora, Sweden, this knife is built for those who want one blade that can handle food prep at camp and still step in for light carving and utility tasks when needed.
At the core is a 4.25-inch blade made from Swedish stainless steel 14C28N, produced by Alleima. Heat-treated, cryogenically processed, and hardened to 58 HRC, the steel delivers a strong balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The full flat grind with a secondary bevel and a shallow 4–6° grind angle reduces cutting resistance dramatically, letting the blade glide cleanly through food and soft materials. A 30° edge angle reinforces durability while maintaining slicing precision, making it especially effective for camp kitchen work, meal prep, and controlled slicing tasks.
The blade’s polished finish helps reduce friction and makes cleanup easier, even in outdoor conditions where water or cleaning supplies may be limited. That smooth surface also supports hygienic use, making it a strong fit for food preparation where cleanliness matters as much as performance. While it excels in camp cooking, it still holds enough strength for light carving and general outdoor utility work.
At 9.57 inches overall and weighing 5.68 oz, the Amberg Full Flat is balanced for extended use without fatigue. It carries easily on the belt and stays comfortable through long prep sessions or routine field tasks. The 4.25-inch blade length gives it a wider working surface on cutting boards, improving efficiency during meal prep and slicing.
The handle is built around a three-component construction, combining a rigid PP core with a soft TPE outer layer for comfort and control. Finished in Black Skies, it features a flatter ergonomic profile that accommodates multiple grip styles. The front tapers for improved precision, while spine ridges add control during detailed work. A laboratory-tested friction pattern ensures a secure hold in wet, cold, or greasy conditions. A finger guard adds safety, and the lanyard hole provides additional carry flexibility.
It comes paired with a dark grey polypropylene sheath designed for ambidextrous use, offering secure retention and practical access in the field.
Made with over 135 years of Swedish knife-making expertise, the Amberg Full Flat (S) is a purpose-built hybrid knife that moves easily between camp kitchen duty and light outdoor work without compromise.
