The Morakniv Companion Drop Point Black is a rugged, practical fixed blade designed for outdoor enthusiasts, campers, hikers, and anyone who appreciates a dependable cutting tool. Combining a capable carbon steel blade with a high-visibility orange polymer handle, this knife delivers straightforward functionality with a design that's easy to spot in the field. Measuring 8.875 inches overall, the Companion offers a versatile size for handling a wide range of outdoor cutting tasks without adding unnecessary bulk to your gear.
The 4-inch drop point blade is crafted from carbon steel and features a black finish that gives the knife a bold, tactical appearance. Carbon steel is valued for its cutting performance, ease of sharpening, and ability to take a keen edge, making it a popular choice for users who want a reliable working blade. The drop point profile provides a useful combination of a strong tip, a curved cutting edge, and excellent control for everyday outdoor chores. Whether you're preparing kindling, cutting cordage, working with campsite materials, or tackling routine utility tasks, this blade offers the versatility needed to get the job done. Like other carbon steel blades, it requires proper care to maintain its performance, so cleaning and drying the blade after use and applying a light coat of protective oil will help prevent rust and corrosion.
The full tang construction provides a solid foundation for the knife, extending the steel through the handle for dependable strength during demanding cutting tasks. This straightforward design complements the Companion's practical character, making it a reliable choice for outdoor use and general utility work. Its durable construction is well suited to users who value function and reliability over unnecessary extras.
The high-visibility orange polymer handle stands out against the black blade, making the knife easier to locate when placed among camping equipment, outdoor gear, or vegetation. The bright color is especially useful when working in low-contrast environments where a dark-handled knife could easily be overlooked. The polymer material offers a durable, practical grip that's easy to maintain and suited to regular use in outdoor conditions. Its contrasting appearance also gives the Companion a distinctive look that balances rugged styling with everyday convenience.
At 8.875 inches overall, the Morakniv Companion Drop Point Black provides a capable fixed blade profile for camping trips, hiking excursions, workshop projects, and general outdoor tasks. Its carbon steel blade, full tang construction, and bright orange handle make it a practical addition to any outdoor kit. With proper blade care and regular maintenance, this Morakniv offers dependable cutting performance wherever your next adventure takes you.
