The Morakniv Mörkret Elmax S Pitch Black is a powerful survival knife engineered for demanding outdoor adventures, bushcraft, and heavy-duty fieldwork. Combining Swedish knife-making expertise with premium Uddeholm Elmax SuperClean powder steel, this full-tang fixed blade delivers exceptional edge retention, corrosion resistance, and dependable strength when conditions get tough. With its all-black appearance and durable construction, the Mörkret is built for those who demand performance and reliability from their outdoor equipment.
At the heart of this knife is a 6-inch blade crafted from Uddeholm Elmax SuperClean stainless powder steel, hardened to 60.5 HRC for outstanding wear resistance and long-lasting sharpness. The 0.165-inch blade features a High Flat grind with a secondary bevel, providing additional steel behind the edge for enhanced durability during demanding cutting tasks. Whether you're carving wood, processing materials, preparing camp, or building a shelter, this robust blade offers the strength and control needed for challenging outdoor work. Its precision-milled spine is compatible with ferro rods, while the sharpened exposed tang at the rear can be used to scrape tinder or strike a fire starter.
The full-tang construction extends the steel through the handle, providing a solid foundation for strength, balance, and reliable power transfer. A glass-fiber-reinforced Power Touch Grip combines a comfortable feel with impact resistance, while its pronounced texture helps maintain a secure hold in wet, cold, or otherwise challenging conditions. Ridges along the spine improve control when working with gloves, and the integrated lanyard hole provides a convenient attachment point for cord or paracord. A protective finger guard adds another practical detail to this purpose-driven design.
The Mörkret also includes an ambidextrous black polymer sheath designed for secure, versatile carry. Its Click-On locking system keeps the knife firmly in place while allowing convenient access when needed. Compatible with TEK-LOK accessories and MOLLE-style mounting rails, the sheath adapts to different carry setups. The included LIBA Smart belt loop functions as a dangler and features a secondary lock for straightforward attachment and removal.
Made entirely in Mora, Sweden, the Morakniv Mörkret Elmax S reflects more than 135 years of Swedish knife-making experience. Measuring 11 inches overall and weighing approximately 10.65 ounces, it combines premium materials, purposeful ergonomics, and robust construction in a capable outdoor companion.
