The handle of the Whippersnapper is constructed from titanium, featuring a special Dark Blast anodized finish that combines rugged strength with a striking appearance. The scales are made from Fedokume layered steel, a material developed by Olamic Cutlery to offer a unique and functional alternative to traditional fancy metals like timascus and mokume. As Olamic Cutlery describes it, "...the idea was to have our own in-house “fancy metal" akin to timascus, mokume, and the like. But we wanted it to stand out and, of course, on top of that the material had to be actually usable. Sometime in 2017 we succeeded and the result was dubbed Fedokume."
