The Old Mountain Square Cast Iron Grill Pan is a pre-seasoned, heavy-duty cooking essential designed to bring authentic outdoor flavor to your indoor stovetop. Engineered with sharp, raised internal ridges, this 9.5-inch square pan elevates food to drain away excess grease while searing deep, professional grill marks into proteins and vegetables. Its natural cast iron construction acts as a superior thermal reservoir, ensuring uniform heat distribution that eliminates the localized hot spots common in thinner cookware.
The performance of this grill pan is rooted in its high volumetric heat capacity, which prevents significant temperature drops when cold ingredients are introduced. This thermal inertia is essential for maintaining the high heat required for a proper Maillard reaction and consistent crust development. The dual-handle configuration—featuring a long primary handle with integrated thumb grips and a dedicated helper handle—provides the necessary leverage and stability for safe transit between high-heat burners and the oven.
Built for extreme environments, the 10.5-inch spout-to-spout body transitions seamlessly from home stovetops and induction burners to conventional ovens and open campfires. The factory-applied seasoning reduces surface adhesion right out of the box, while the matte black finish and embossed logo reflect the rugged durability of traditional cast iron. This pan offers the flexibility to sear, broil, or grill anywhere, providing a reliable cooking surface that thrives under high-intensity heat.
