The Petrified Fish Simum Linerlock Folder is a capable everyday carry knife built with dependable materials, smooth mechanics, and a practical design that performs across a wide range of cutting tasks. Designed by Petrified Fish, the Simum delivers the balance of strength, control, and efficiency that users expect from a hardworking folding knife. With its clean satin blade and durable canvas micarta handle, this folder offers both reliable performance and understated style.
At the heart of the Simum is a 3.50-inch blade crafted from K110 tool steel. Known for its strong edge retention and excellent wear resistance, K110 is a trusted blade steel for users who expect their knives to hold an edge through repeated use. The blade is hardened to 59–61 HRC, providing a solid balance between durability and cutting performance. A flat grind enhances slicing efficiency, allowing the blade to pass smoothly through materials such as cardboard, rope, plastic, and other common cutting tasks. The satin finish highlights the blade’s clean lines while giving it a professional, work-focused appearance.
Smooth blade deployment is achieved through a caged ceramic ball bearing pivot system. This mechanism allows the blade to open with fluid, consistent motion while maintaining long-term durability. Whether you're opening the knife for quick daily tasks or more deliberate work, the pivot system ensures a reliable and satisfying action. Once open, the liner lock engages securely, holding the blade firmly in place and giving you the confidence to tackle demanding cuts.
The handle is built from khaki canvas micarta, a material prized for its durability, grip, and natural feel in the hand. Micarta offers dependable traction even when conditions are less than ideal and gradually develops character as it’s used over time. The handle’s ergonomic shape promotes a comfortable and controlled grip, making the knife easy to handle during extended use. Measuring 4.61 inches long with an overall thickness of 0.55 inches, the handle provides a solid hold while maintaining a streamlined carry profile.
With an overall length of 8.11 inches and a weight of just 4.27 ounces, the Simum strikes an ideal balance between size and portability. It’s substantial enough for demanding cutting work yet compact enough for comfortable everyday carry. Built with practical materials and thoughtful design, the Petrified Fish Simum stands as a dependable tool for daily cutting needs.
