The Piratech Saga Folder is a refined work knife built around a simple idea: don't be different just to be different. Be different because it makes the knife better. As Piratech's first elegant framelock work knife, the Saga combines purposeful engineering, premium materials, and a clean design that's ready for serious everyday use.
At the heart of the Saga is a 3.57-inch hybrid blade made from CPM-S90V steel. Blending drop-point and clip-point characteristics, the blade offers a versatile profile for everything from routine EDC cutting to tougher tasks. The hollow grind and 0.12-inch blade thickness strike a capable balance between cutting performance and hard-use confidence, while the crowned spine provides a comfortable surface when applying pressure. The hand-strip satin finish adds a refined touch to the working edge.
The titanium handle features a 180-grit quartz black bead-blasted finish paired with a Shred Carbon Fiber inlay, creating a rugged yet sophisticated appearance. Titanium provides a strong, solid foundation, while Piratech's decision to retain the material inside the handle adds mass that helps absorb vibration and gives the Saga a substantial feel in hand.
The framelock design is engineered with work in mind. An exposed lockbar provides a secure grip point, while its extended length delivers greater leverage for unlocking the blade without sacrificing a strong lockup. The deep, elongated pocket clip makes pocket access smooth and secure, and the rounded spine and purposeful jimping contribute to a comfortable, controlled grip.
Piratech has also taken a minimalist approach to the hardware. The Saga uses its Magsnap magnetic inlay system to conceal the hardware for a clean appearance while keeping it accessible for maintenance. Hardware passes through the handle from the show side and secures into the titanium lockbar side. The pivot and pivot screw are combined into a single component, using M4 threads and precision engineering to maintain a slim, strong construction.
The backspacer features a distinctive milling line created with a 5D CNC machine. Its curved design represents a rope used to tie knots and pass stories from one generation to the next. It's a fitting symbol for the Saga's philosophy: tie your own knots and create your own story.
Measuring 8.27 inches overall and weighing just 4.37 ounces, the Saga is sized to handle demanding jobs without becoming cumbersome. With S90V steel, titanium, Shred Carbon Fiber, and carefully considered engineering throughout, it's a folding knife built to work as hard as it looks refined.
