The 3.57-inch hybrid blade is crafted from CPM-S90V steel, delivering excellent edge retention and dependable cutting performance. Its profile blends the useful characteristics of a drop point and clip point, giving you a versatile cutting tool that's equally suited to everyday tasks and more demanding jobs. The 0.12-inch-thick blade features a hollow grind for efficient cutting, while the crowned spine provides a comfortable surface for applying thumb pressure. A CGC rating of 0.089 reflects the blade's efficient cutting geometry. The hand-strip satin finish is enhanced with a DLC coating for a rugged, distinctive appearance.
The Saga's handle combines titanium with a Shred Carbon Fiber inlay, creating a striking balance between technical performance and sophisticated style. The titanium receives a 180-grit quartz black bead-blasted finish that gives the handle a subdued, tactile character. Piratech doesn't hollow out the titanium simply to shave ounces. Retaining more material inside the handle adds mass to help absorb vibration and provides the substantial, solid feel you'd expect from a serious work knife.
The framelock is purpose-built for control and confidence. An exposed lockbar provides a natural gripping surface, while its long length and strong tension give you greater leverage when unlocking the blade while maintaining a strong lockup. Piratech's Magsnap system keeps the exterior remarkably clean by concealing the hardware beneath a magnetic inlay while still providing easy access for maintenance. The hardware passes through the handle from the show side and secures into the titanium lockbar side. Following the "Less Is More" principle, the pivot and pivot screw are combined into one component and use precision M4 threads, allowing the pivot to secure directly into the titanium without unnecessarily increasing the handle's thickness.
The backspacer features a curved milling line created with a 5D CNC machine. Inspired by a rope used to tie knots and pass stories down through generations, the design is a fitting symbol for the Saga: tie your own knots and create your own life story.
