Back on 8/7/2024, I immediately purchased this knife when I first noticed it was first released, and received it on 8/12/2024. It was my very first Pro-Tech, my very first auto, and my very first purchase at SMKW and I couldn’t be happier! This version of the Oligarch is my absolute favorite! The tones of grays, along with the unique smoky gray colored DLC, over the expertly heat treated CPM Magnacut at 63-64 HRC, just take this Oligarch to a new level! And to top it off, TC stated in the original youtube short showcasing this new, SMKW exclusive Oligarch, that there was “only 34 made”! I am still very surprised that they still are available.. I figured they would be bought up immediately and would be gone super fast! Maybe they got more in? I’d be kinda bummed if SMKW lied about “only 34 made” because that was just a tiny, minor factor in my decision to purchase the Oligarch. But overall I am still extremely happy with my decision and proud to have such an amazing example of an American made Pro-Tech Oligarch! Speaking of which, mine came ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! There is NOT one single flaw found on my Oligarch! It came perfectly centered, which is very important to me, especially on this model, because of the way it is designed and built, like two clam shells screwed together, with a prominent dividing line right down the middle. If the blade was not exactly, perfectly aligned and centered, it would stick out like a sore thumb, so I’m happy to report that isn’t the case with mine and hopefully every single one of the other 33 SMKW exclusive Oligarchs are perfect and perfectly centered as well! Last thing I wanted to mention was the POWER of the Oligarch! It fires out fast and hard! Being my first Pro-Tech, I now fully understand why people say to “hold on tight!” and not to hand it over to inexperienced or unsuspecting people without first explaining why and telling them to hold on tight! Unless you want to see your Oligarch flying outta their hands, blade open.. which I do not recommend in the slightest! In closing, I wholeheartedly recommend this SMKW exclusive Pro-Tech Oligarch to whoever is interested in such a knife. I believe that you too will not be disappointed or regret your decision to purchase such an awesome knife. This is one knife that is not going anywhere else except for my pocket! I plan on never getting rid of this one, it is just that impressive! And I think you’ll find it to be very much more satisfying than I could explain here in words! I hope you will pick one up while you still can, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have and will! Thank you!
