Refined and Excellently Designed Rough Rough
My first view of this knife on the SMKW website did not impress me because it seemed very plain looking. However I saw a review of this knife and decided to buy it and was shocked how much I love this knife. This knife is so beautiful in person in its refined elegance. I love the smooth bone handles where I can't feel any of the pins. The reverse tanto blade is elegant and quite thick and sturdy. The handle melts into my hand and the knife doesn't feel delicate or small in my hand. The thick blade (a bit thicker than a Buck 301 blade) is perfectly centered. In other words, this gorgeous knife does not look or feel like any Rough Ryder I own, and feels like more like a Rough Ryder Reserve or a small batch custom made slip joint. Even push and pull of this slipjoint blade has a smooth feel (a 6 pull(, and doesn't feel like any of my other 130 slipjoints I own, including my two Jack Wolfs. I think its because the thickness of the blade on the Dragon Wing. This knife is an astounding bargain for $20. My only nitpick is the back edge of the knife next to the pivot, which sticks up when the blade is closed, is quite sharp/pointy. I am thinking of taking a pit of sandpaper to the edges to they aren't so sharp.
