The SOG Auto Spec Elite I Automatic Knife Purple & Black delivers fast, reliable performance in a lightweight everyday carry platform built for serious users. Designed by SOG Specialty Knives & Tools, this out-the-side automatic knife combines tactical speed, precision cutting power, and bold style with its striking purple G-10 handle and black-coated blade.
At the heart of this automatic folder is a 3.5-inch plain edge drop point blade crafted from AUS-8 stainless steel. Known for its excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, AUS-8 is a proven performer in demanding environments. The drop point blade profile offers outstanding versatility, with a strong tip for controlled piercing and a generous belly for efficient slicing. The black coated finish reduces glare while adding an extra layer of protection, making this knife ideal for tactical applications, law enforcement use, and everyday utility cutting tasks.
The Spec Elite I features a true automatic push-button deployment system. With a simple press of the button, the blade snaps open quickly and locks securely into place. This out-the-side automatic action provides rapid, one-handed operation when speed matters most. A built-in safety helps prevent accidental deployment, giving you added confidence during carry and storage.
Weighing approximately 2.8 ounces, this lightweight automatic knife is designed for comfortable all-day carry. Its slim profile and 4.3-inch closed length make it easy to slip into a pocket without feeling bulky. The durable purple G-10 handle scales provide excellent grip texture, even in wet or demanding conditions, while keeping overall weight down. The ergonomic handle shape enhances control and comfort during extended use.
A sturdy pocket clip allows for reversible tip-up carry, ensuring your knife is always ready when you need it. Whether you are opening packages, cutting rope, handling field tasks, or adding a dependable automatic knife to your collection, the SOG Auto Spec Elite I is built to perform.
This single-edge, plain blade configuration offers clean, precise cuts and easy sharpening compared to serrated options. The unsharpened spine maintains structural integrity and reinforces the blade’s strength during tougher cutting jobs. With an overall open length of approximately 7.8 inches, this automatic knife strikes an ideal balance between compact carry and full-size performance.
Proudly made in the USA of domestic and foreign components, the Spec Elite I reflects SOG’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and functional design. Its combination of automatic deployment, premium blade steel, durable G-10 handle construction, and bold purple styling makes it a standout choice in the automatic knife category.
