The Something Obscene J Cape V4 Bronze & Black is a bold evolution of one of the most recognizable designs in the modern knife world. Designed by Something Obscene Company and built with precision production quality, this version pairs premium materials with a striking two-tone aesthetic that commands attention the moment it leaves your pocket.
At its core is a 3.50-inch drop point blade crafted from CPM-20CV stainless steel. Known for exceptional edge retention, outstanding corrosion resistance, and impressive wear resistance, CPM-20CV is a top-tier powder metallurgy steel trusted by serious knife enthusiasts. The blade features a sleek black coated finish that enhances durability while delivering a clean, tactical look. Combined with a flat grind and a blade thickness of 0.160 inches, it offers a strong yet precise cutting profile capable of handling demanding daily tasks with confidence.
Open, the J Cape V4 measures 8.00 inches overall, giving it a balanced, full-size feel in hand. Closed, it measures 4.625 inches, making it substantial without being cumbersome. Weighing approximately 4.8 ounces, it strikes that perfect balance between solid construction and comfortable carry. Every dimension has been carefully considered to provide a confident grip, controlled cutting performance, and a premium in-hand presence.
The handle is constructed from titanium and finished in a distinctive bronze and black anodized two-tone design. This anodization not only creates rich visual contrast but also enhances surface durability. The bronze tones add warmth and character, while the black accents reinforce the knife’s bold, modern personality. Black PVD-coated hardware ties the entire design together, including the screws and pocket clip, delivering a cohesive, refined appearance from every angle.
Deployment is fast, smooth, and versatile thanks to its dual action configuration. You can open the blade using either the thumbstuds or the flipper tab, giving you flexibility depending on your preference. The ceramic bearing pivot system ensures a fluid, responsive action that feels crisp and controlled. Once open, the titanium frame lock engages securely, providing reliable lockup and the strength you expect from a premium frame lock design.
The drop point blade shape enhances the knife’s versatility, making it ideal for slicing, controlled piercing, and general utility cutting. The black coated blade paired with the bronze and black titanium handle creates a dramatic yet refined look that stands out without sacrificing performance. It’s a knife that feels purposeful, engineered, and thoughtfully executed in every detail.
The Something Obscene J Cape V4 Bronze & Black isn’t just visually striking—it’s built to perform at a high level day in and day out. With its premium CPM-20CV steel, titanium construction, dual deployment options, and black PVD hardware, it delivers the quality and personality that collectors and serious users appreciate.
