The Spartan Blades Harsey Difensa FDE & Green is built with purpose, authority, and refined craftsmanship, blending battlefield-inspired performance with premium American-made execution. Designed by legendary knife maker William Harsey, the Difensa reflects decades of experience shaping blades that prioritize strength, balance, and real-world capability. Every line and material choice speaks to reliability, making this fixed blade a standout option for users who demand confidence in their gear.
Measuring 11.62 inches overall, the Difensa offers a commanding presence while remaining exceptionally well-balanced in hand. Its 6.25-inch spear point blade is ground with a flat main bevel and a tapered top edge, delivering impressive penetration and controlled slicing ability. This geometry provides versatility across demanding cutting tasks while maintaining the precise point control Harsey’s designs are known for. The .18-inch blade thickness adds durability and rigidity without compromising handling, giving the knife a reassuringly solid feel during use.
The blade is crafted from CPM MagnaCut steel, a modern super steel celebrated for its exceptional toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. MagnaCut allows the Difensa to perform at a high level in harsh environments while remaining easy to maintain compared to traditional high-hardness steels. Finished with a ZrN Flat Dark Earth coating, the blade gains added surface protection and a non-reflective appearance that complements its tactical roots and enhances long-term durability.
A hidden tang construction contributes to the Difensa’s clean profile and excellent balance, allowing the handle to sit naturally in the hand without excess weight at the rear. The handle itself features 3D contoured CE Canvas Micarta in green, offering a secure, ergonomic grip that performs reliably in wet, dry, or gloved conditions. Micarta’s natural texture improves traction while aging gracefully over time, adding character without sacrificing function.
Weighing 11.36 ounces, the Harsey Difensa strikes a thoughtful balance between mass and maneuverability. It’s substantial enough to inspire confidence during demanding work, yet refined enough for extended use without unnecessary fatigue. Every detail, from the blade geometry to the handle contours, reflects a commitment to purposeful design rather than excess.
Proudly made in the USA, this knife embodies Spartan Blades’ dedication to American craftsmanship, premium materials, and uncompromising standards. The Difensa isn’t built for display alone; it’s built to be trusted when performance matters most. Whether it’s part of a professional kit or a carefully curated collection, it delivers function with unmistakable presence.
